Home – Fremantle
Fly to Perth where you will be met at the airport before a short town tour and then check into your motel in Fremantle, a short walk from the marina.

Day 2

Perth – Cervantes
Travel northward to Cervantes via the Swan Valley, studded with orchards and vineyards. Patches of colour made up of lambs tails, smoke bush, grevilleas and kangaroo paw decorate the side of the road. The first stop will be New Norcia, a piece of old Spain built in the West Australian bush by Spanish Benedictine Monks. Visit the famous Pinnacles of Nambung National Park – these are unique spikes of limestone ranging in size from slivers to giant columns. Stop at Lake Thetis to view stromatolites, the oldest form of life on earth.

B, L, D

Day 3

Cervantes – Kalbarri
Continue north through the crayfishing towns of Port Denison and Dongara to Greenough, a National Trust classified town. Take a break in Geraldton before visiting the craft shops of Northampton and taking the coastal route to Kalbarri. Pass by convict ruins, beta-carotene lakes and spectacular coastal scenery as Kalbarri nears.

B, L, D

Day 4

Kalbarri – Geraldton
Visit Kalbarri National Park, famous for its brilliant display of heath and wildflowers. From Hawks Head Lookout there are spectacular views over the Murchison Gorge. Re-enter Geraldton via its harbour with huge grain loading facilities and rock lobster fleets. After lunch, tour the Maritime Museum with artefacts from Dutch Shipwrecks and the Batavia. A town tour will include the memorial to HMAS Sydney.

B, L, D

Day 5

Geraldton – Fremantle

Fremantle – Margaret River
Follow the coastline to Busselton Jetty, the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. The village of Cowaramup is our next stop to visit the Candy Cow sweet shop and taste their fudge, honey crunch and nougat. Next explore the Margaret River Chocolate Company and the Margaret River Dairy Company, sampling their products before arriving at the motel, located in the town centre.

Orchids, myrtles, flowering mallee and the unique Southern Cross Flowers blossoming here will delight wildflower enthusiasts. Arrive in Ravensthorpe, where it is mid-season for wildflowers. This afternoon follow the South Coast Highway through the stunning coastal scenery around Hopetoun and the township of Esperance, a commercial and service centre for the local farming district.

Day 11

Esperence Experience
This morning our town tour provides us with insights on the town and surroundings, before boarding a cruiser for a half day tour of the Bay of Isles. Be on the lookout for wildlife such as the Cape Barron Geese and sea lions. Purchase your own lunch in Esperance before enjoying the remainder of the day at your leisure—perhaps try one of the local restaurants for dinner.

Day 12

Esperance – Hyden
Our day starts at the amazing Mermaid Leather Factory, where fish skins are made into unique gifts. Passing the pink lakes on our way to Ravensthorpe for lunch, be on the lookout for the elusive pink and green skirted qualup bell and various orchids. See more pink lakes on the journey to Lake King. Upon arrival into Hyden visit the Lace Showroom, a true example of what can be achieved if you have the patience and time.

Our day starts with a guided walk along Wave Rock. This amazing rock formation was sculpted and coloured by chemicals over 2.7 billion years ago and resembles a giant wave about to break. After photos and morning tea, we head cross country to Southern Cross; this trip passes by Skeleton Rocks and the edge of Jilbadji NP, where you can be on the lookout for more wildflowers. Arrive at Coolgardie mid-afternoon, where we will admire the gracious stone buildings erected when it was a prosperous gold town. Take time to visit the Goldfields Exhibition Museum, before arriving in Kalgoorlie for our overnight stay.
