Geelong – Warrnambool
What better way to spend Christmas Eve than to travel the magnificent Great Ocean Road? The coast is a very rich dairy and agriculture area but is more famous for the rugged and beautiful cliffs that make up this famous coastline. The incredible pristine scenery includes the Twelve Apostles, the fallen London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. There is no doubt that this is a photographer’s delight and for the very keen, there is opportunity to treat yourself to an early Christmas present by taking an optional scenic helicopter flight. Enjoy afternoon tea at Allansford Cheese World before settling in for 3 relaxing nights in Warrnambool. Late this evening, visit Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum to see “Shipwrecked!”, the state of the art sound and laser show. This show brings to life the tale of the Loch Ard, wrecked in 1878. Designed in the classic style, these elegant sheltered gardens feature wide curving paths and ancient trees with the gardens retaining remnants of the original flora on the site.
